Coffee Grinders

There are many great coffee grinders to choose from and we totally understand that it might feel overwhelming when you start looking at all the options. Grinding your own coffee is definitely worth it! Here are a few options we recommend: (image order clockwise)

1. Bodum Bistro Electric Burr Grinder $

If you are looking to upgrade to a Burr Grinder this is a very stylish, consistent and easy-to-use grinder.

2. Oxo Brew Conical Burr Grinder $

We enjoy Oxo brands in our home so it’s no surprise to us that this grinder is another great choice for entering the world of grinding your own coffee. It has a bit more features and settings than the Bodum Bistro but still at an affordable price.

3. The Capresso Infinity Conical Burr Grinder $

This was our first burr grinder and have been using it for years! It features high-quality precise burrs, a lot of grind options including fine grinding and is extremely affordable.

4. Fellow Ode Brew Grinder $$

Our second burr grinder and it was love at first sight (and sip)! An excellent grinder for filter brewing but is not designed for espresso. Upgrading the burrs is easy to do if you want to love this grinder and enjoy finer grinding options.

5. Eureka Mignon Notte $$

If you enjoy all kinds of coffee brewing options but LOVE espresso the most, this is the one we recommend!

6. Travel Grinders $-$$

There are many easy-to-use and compact hand grinders that would complete a coffee travel kit so here are 3 of our recommendations depending on your travel needs could be a great fit!

  1. Porlex Mini Hand Grinder $ - It is affordable, durable and ultra portable. Perfect for an Aeropress travel kit.

  2. VSSL Java Coffee Grinder $$ - Compact, smooth rotation while grinding and magnetic handle attaches for added ease of use.

  3. Knock Aergrind Hand Grinder $$ - The Aergrind is designed to fit inside an AeroPress coffee brewer, which makes it a perfect addition to a travel coffee setup.

Coffee Brewing Scales

Do you need a scale? Possibly not…but maybe? Chef’s, baker’s and many other professions rely on accurate measurements and so do most coffee enthusiasts!

If you’re really getting into your home brewing experience, want to get the most out of your coffee process and flavors then a scale might be just want you want to achieve those consistent results! You can start with your basic kitchen scale but if you’d like one that is designed for coffee brewing here are a couple options we recommend.

1. Hario v60 Brew Scale $

This scale is an excellent and precise coffee brewing scale! It has great functionality, compact and a great upgrade from a standard kitchen scale. Coffee brewing equipment is what this brand is known for so we think this easy-to-use scale would not disappoint!

2. Timemore Black Mirror $$

Sleek design, smaller footprint the the Hario but larger than the Acaia Lunar “espresso” footprint. This is right in the middle as far as price and size. It will be easier to do pour overs with more space for pour over carafes and a variety of cup sizes. Rechargeable with USB-C instead of batteries and dedicated app connectivity.

3. Acaia Scale Lunar $$$

It’s the best of the best for sure! Super durable with a small stylish footprint designed for espresso but is also awesome for pour overs into smaller cups. A smart scale with bluetooth connectivity.
